Your Itinerary
DAY 1 | Tuesday 15 April 2026 | Journey to the Riverland
Your Southern Highlands adventure begins with door-to-door chauffeur car service collecting you from home and transferring you to the Endeavour Tours Depot. After boarding our comfortable coach, we journey northeast across South Australia’s agricultural heartland, with a morning tea stop at Tailem Bend before continuing through the Mallee region. Lunch awaits at the welcoming Cobb & Co Café in Murrayville, where home-style country cooking provides the perfect mid-journey break. We then traverse the Murray River plains into Victoria, arriving at the Swan Hill Resort in the late afternoon. After settling into your accommodation, we transfer to the Swan Hill Club for dinner, where you’ll meet your fellow travellers and receive an overview of the exciting days ahead. Your evening concludes with a return to the resort, allowing you to rest after your journey.
DAY 2 | Wednesday 16 April 2026 | Historic Deniliquin & Wagga Wagga
After breakfast at our accommodation, we depart Swan Hill and travel south toward the Riverina region. Our first stop is Deniliquin, known as ‘Australia’s Ute Capital’, where morning tea in the picturesque Waring Gardens precedes our visit to The Depot. This remarkable collection showcases over 300 vintage vehicles, machinery, and local memorabilia spanning seven decades, offering a fascinating glimpse into rural Australia’s industrial heritage. The museum’s diverse exhibits include restored tractors, agricultural equipment, and vintage automobiles that chronicle the region’s development. Following a self-guided tour, we enjoy lunch at the venue before continuing our journey east through the farming town of Urana to Wagga Wagga, the Riverina’s largest inland city. We arrive at the Mercure Wagga Wagga in the late afternoon, with dinner at the hotel completing your day of discovery.
DAY 3 | Thursday 17 April 2026 | Railway Heritage & Historic Gundagai
Following breakfast, we travel to Junee to explore the magnificent Roundhouse Railway Museum, a 42-sided heritage building constructed in 1947 and recognised as one of Australia’s finest railway preservation facilities. Your guided tour reveals the golden age of steam railways, featuring restored locomotives, the museum’s unique circular design that once facilitated efficient train maintenance, and fascinating stories of the men and women who built Australia’s rail network. Morning tea follows this captivating heritage experience. We then journey through the rolling countryside to Gundagai, immortalised in Australian folklore for the Dog on the Tuckerbox monument, where lunch is served at the historic Criterion Hotel. Our afternoon drive takes us through Yass before reaching Goulburn, Australia’s first inland city. We check into the Mercure Goulburn (02 4822 5445), your comfortable and centrally located home for the next three nights, with dinner at the hotel providing a relaxing conclusion to your day immersed in railway heritage and country town charm.
DAY 4 | Friday 18 April 2026 | Brigadoon Highland Gathering
After breakfast, we journey into the scenic Southern Highlands to the village of Bundanoon, where the spectacular Brigadoon Highland Gathering awaits. This premier Scottish cultural festival, held annually since 1978, transforms the village into a vibrant celebration of Celtic heritage. You’ll experience massed pipe bands marching in full regalia, highland dancing competitions showcasing intricate traditional steps, Scottish athletic events including caber tossing and hammer throwing, clan exhibitions displaying tartans and family histories, and over 180 stalls featuring Scottish goods, Celtic crafts, and gourmet foods. The gathering’s authentic atmosphere, enhanced by the stirring sound of bagpipes and the mountain backdrop, creates an unforgettable cultural spectacle. Throughout the day, enjoy the festivities at your own pace, with food and refreshments available from numerous vendors. Lunch is served within the festival grounds during your day. We return to our accommodation in Goulburn during the evening after a memorable day celebrating Scotland’s cultural traditions in the Australian highlands.
DAY 5 | Saturday 19 April 2026 | Goulburn Discovery
Following a leisurely breakfast, we embark on a guided town tour of historic Goulburn, established in 1833 and Australia’s first inland city. Your local guide reveals architectural treasures including heritage buildings from the 1800s, while sharing stories of the city’s significance as a major stop on the Sydney-Melbourne route and its role in Australia’s wool industry. Morning tea accompanies this exploration of regional history. Our midday visit to the Goulburn Brewery offers insight into craft brewing traditions, with a comprehensive tour of the brewing process followed by tastings of their award-winning ales and lagers. Lunch at the brewery showcases locally sourced produce paired with their distinctive beers. During the afternoon, we ascend to the Rocky Hill War Memorial and Museum, where panoramic views across the city complement moving tributes to service personnel from all conflicts. The museum’s extensive collection of military memorabilia and personal stories provides profound perspective on Australia’s wartime experiences. We’ll return to our accommodation in the late afternoon, with dinner at the hotel completing your culturally enriching day.
DAY 6 | Sunday 20 April 2026 | Bradman Museum & Homeward Journey
After breakfast, we depart Goulburn for Bowral, the elegant Southern Highlands town forever linked to Australia’s greatest cricketer. The Bradman Museum offers a comprehensive celebration of Sir Donald Bradman’s extraordinary career and cricket’s cultural significance in Australian life. Through multimedia displays, personal memorabilia, and interactive exhibits, the museum chronicles ‘The Don’s’ unparalleled achievements, including his legendary Test batting average of 99.94, and lasting legacy on Australian sport. Following this inspiring visit, we enjoy lunch before beginning our journey to Sydney Airport for afternoon flights back to Adelaide. Chauffeur cars will be waiting to provide your final door-to-door service, returning you home with wonderful memories of Scottish festivities, Southern Highlands charm, and regional discoveries shared with newfound friends.
